Death Valley Scenes
Written by TJ on March 3, 2008 – 3:05 pm -
A couple weeks ago after my ML shoot, I buzzed out to DV and met up with Tim Halberg, Colin Michael, Jason Groupp, and John Griffin (check their blogs for pics). It was supposed to be this hardcore camping trip but I’m not sure how hardcore it can be with running water, toilets, and a hotel just a ten 10 minute walk away for those who get scared of the coyotes or think the ground is too hard to sleep on:) The sleeping conditions may not have been ideal for all of us, but we did all manage to survive after Colin convinced us to eat his “college special” for dinner the first night. Needless to say, that was the last meal we let Colin cook
It only manages to rain a handful of days in DV and of course we were there one of those days. Luckily, our campsite at Furnace Creek stayed dry for the most part.
the boys (minus Griff who arrived later in the day)

thanks guys! good times.

Wakerupper.com
Written by TJ on February 8, 2008 – 7:02 am -This is a little random, but for those of you who travel and take early morning flights or just have to wake up early, wakerupper is a free telephone remind you might want to check out. I flew to NY super early yesterday and was afraid I wouldn’t wake up or would hit the snooze button on my alarm clock (cell phone) and go back to sleep ending up missing my flight. Searching around, I found wakerupper and scheduled a wake up call for just minutes after my alarm was scheduled to go off. Just like I was afraid of, I turned my alarm off and was set to go back to sleep when I received my wake up call which called the phone I’d set on the other side of the room - forcing me to get out of bed. It’s nice to know I can receive my own personalized wakeup call anytime and anywhere

Henri Cartier-Bresson
Written by TJ on January 28, 2008 – 9:46 am -The last few days I spent quite a bit of time looking through the portfolio’s of photographers outside of the wedding industry. I regularly find myself looking in other area’s for inspiration and am always in awe of how many photographers there are out there creating amazing images. While I was jumping around from site to site I came across an interview of the late Henri Cartier-Bresson by Charlie Rose. If you get a chance, check it out and notice how Henri Cartier-Bresson explains composition… “satisfaction to the eye”. So simple.
